I Cried 3 Times

This was written after my daughter was born. August 29th, 2020.

I cried three times today.

The first because the world lost a king.

I cried three times today.

The second seeing my partner in such pain.

I cried three times today.

The third from the joy of meeting Brooke Corrine.

My tears flow free today.

From the moment that she looked up at me.

My heart opened today.

With every possibility.

My soul took flight today.

For the world has gained itself a queen.
